Outreach List: You will find your list of Group Leaders to email in this sheet. Use the `Email Address` column to copy "friendly email addresses" that include names.
EMAIL SUBJECT: Subject lines depend on whether the receivee has volunteered at the Friendship Walk in the past. See below for applicable subject line.

I hope you are having a great year! I'm reaching out as the Volunteers Chair of the
Best Buddies Friendship Walk, taking place on April 18th from 8:30 AM to noon at Golden Gate Park.
Our volunteers are the heartbeat of the Friendship Walk, and your group's energy and support not only helped the past event run smoothly but also went a long way in creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for everyone involved. I hope that you all had a joyful and rewarding experience, and we hope you’ll join us again for another incredible day of community and connection!
As in past years, volunteer roles include:
- Setting up & breaking down the event booths/tents
- Registering and checking-in participants
- Setting up course signage and cheering on walkers
- Passing out water at the water station on the course
- Staging food and beverages at the Food tent
- Monitoring attractions in the Festival of Friendship, such as the Bounce House, outdoor games, popcorn machine, etc.
We're using
SignUp.com again to manage our volunteers.
Here's how to view full descriptions of the volunteer roles and sign up for shifts in three easy steps (Please ensure that each member of your group registers separately to volunteer):
- Visit the SignUp portal: https://signup.com/go/NwQtBQn
You do not need to register for a SignUp account nor keep a password on SignUp.
- Look over all the roles listed and choose as many shifts as you'd like. Shifts that are good for groups are indicated with an asterisk *. Be sure not to sign up for shifts that overlap!
We appreciate your help in whichever role(s) you choose! We have a particular need for Set Up volunteers.
- Click the SIGN UP button for each shift you like. Each member of your group can register on their own, or you can register the other members of your group by entering the # of Spots needed when you register. For each member of your group, click the Save and Add Another Person button and enter the details for each member. When finished entering details for all your members, click the Save and Done button.
When registering, enter the name of your group so we know you're volunteering together.

The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is the leading walk in the country supporting inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The Friendship Walk raises vital funds for Best Buddies programs that establish opportunities for 1:1 friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for people with (IDD). The Friendship Walk is a celebration of inclusion and the achievements of everyone in the Best Buddies community, and grows awareness of the Best Buddies mission. It also raises vital funding for Best Buddies programs.
